RoninA Sisson Nordkapp, built for my Hokkaido 2004 kayak trip, and used also for Korea 2005. Light-weight carbon-kevlar layup in a rather dashing yellow. The name Ronin, apart from meaning a wandering, masterless samurai, is made up of the kanji for wave-tossed man. Apparently it has contemporary connotations of high-school drop-out, too. How appropriate, thought I. Ronin is pronounced as in Rawhide. |
